Media Interest Signals Exciting Times Ahead
Our post yesterday has sparked some questions from a few of our fans who are already supporters of the PFL (Philippine Football League). In particular, the decision to postpone the start of the first game by a month has raised eyebrows. The main reason for the delay is very positive. Media groups are showing interest in this new season, and some negotiations are still in process. This is not surprising because the 2024 PFL season is expected to be the most exciting in years! Not only will there be a dramatic increase in the number of teams to 15, but we can also expect that the level of football will be much higher than in previous seasons, with some star players joining the league. There will be 4-5 clubs with a realistic chance of becoming champions, including last year’s champion, Kaya FC, of course. Furthermore, and perhaps more importantly, the league welcomes three new clubs this year that could revitalize the league, each with the potential to attract more fans to the stadiums: United City, a historic club; Taguig FC, a brand new club with football star players; and, of course, Manila Montet, one of the very few Filipino clubs that sell jerseys locally and abroad, thanks to our growing popularity not only in the Philippines but also in other countries.
