You’ll play FIFA 23 on PlayStation 4. The competition will follow a structure similar to the European Champions League, meaning you’ll play multiple matches throughout the event.
Montet eSports Competition Rules
- General Information
One Player Per Team: Each participant represents a single team. There are no teams of two players.
Match Scheduling: When participants arrive at the venue, they will be assigned a number. The match schedule is pre-arranged, so match-ups will be based on these assigned numbers (e.g., Team 3 vs. Team 8). The order of arrival determines which number you receive.
Minimum Match Guarantee: Every player will play at least two matches, regardless of whether they win or lose. Depending on the total number of participants, there might be up to three matches during the group stage. A ranking will be established at the end of these matches.
Knockout Stage: The top 8 players from the group stage will proceed to the knockout rounds. Matches will be as follows: 1st vs. 8th, 2nd vs. 7th, 3rd vs. 6th, and 4th vs. 5th. After quarterfinals, there will be semifinals and then the final. There will be no match to determine 3rd and 4th places.
Winner’s Prizes: The overall winner will receive ₱5,000 and a Manila Montet FC jersey. The runner-up will receive a jersey. No prizes will be awarded to 3rd or 4th place participants.
- Match Rules
Match Duration: Each match will have a minimum of 3-minute halves.
Team Selection & Strategy: Players are free to choose any team and adjust their strategies before the match, as long as they don’t take excessive time. If a player takes too long, they may be penalized.
Match Interruptions: Once a match has started, players are not allowed to pause the game for any reason except to replace an injured player. At halftime, players can adjust their strategies and make substitutions. During the second half, no further changes are allowed unless there is an injury.
Forfeits: If a player needs to leave the tournament for any reason, they will forfeit the match, and it will be recorded as a 3-0 loss.
- Participation Rules
Odd Number of Players: If there is an odd number of participants, some players may compete against the computer (AI). The AI will be set to ‘World Class’ difficulty by default. In this case, the team you select will also be the team you play against.
Age Limit: There is no age limit. Both children and adults can participate, and there is no separation—everyone will compete against each other.
Deposit Requirement: To participate, players must pay a refundable deposit. This deposit will only be returned at the end of the tournament, provided the participant stays until the end. If a participant leaves early, their deposit will be forfeited and entirely donated to our foundation, which supports financially struggling Filipino children.
- Conduct & Fair Play
Respect & Sportsmanship: All players are expected to show respect towards each other and the organizers. Any form of cheating, unsporting behavior, or disrespect may lead to disqualification.
Decisions by Organizers: The decisions of the organizers are final. If there are any disputes, the organizers will resolve them to the best of their ability, ensuring fairness.
